The College held a Graduation Celebration on Saturday 26th November at the Tamworth Community Centre. This event was attended by over 50 people connected to the College as well as representatives from Tamworth Regional Council.
Seven students graduated from the VET Diploma of Counselling and were presented with their certificates. Most of the students completed over 200 hours of supervised practical work during their studies and two have begun work as Counsellors in the local Regional area.
Following the formalities the attendees enjoyed a delicious High Tea, beautiful music by Ann Elsley, Steve Cunneen and Bobbie Warrington trio.
In her speech on behalf of the students, Lyn Firth commented that “…Learning counselling is a journey….I enrolled with the College because it was local and the counselling from its graduates (I now recognise as Emotion Focused Therapy) is very effective….this course of study has been an enriching experience for me…”
